News for today:
- [Abnormal AI] From technical exploits to human ones. New research from Abnormal AI shows that attackers are pivoting away from exploiting technical vulnerabilities to targeting behavioral and organizational vulnerabilities. While attackers are continuing to exploit internal relationships and trust between colleagues, vendor email compromise (VEC) now accounts for the majority of business email compromise (BEC) attacks, making up 61% of all BEC. As attackers shift toward impersonating trusted vendors, they are increasingly using high-stakes financial workflows to maximize impact. Among these, billing account update requests stand out as the most dangerous vector, carrying a 26.5% compromise rate, which is dramatically higher than routine invoice inquiries at less than 1%. - [XM Cyber] Posturing Google Workspace. XM Cyber released PostureAI, an AI agent for assessing misconfigurations and other security concerns in an organization’s Google Workspace account. PostureAI provides ad-hoc security posture assessment for Google Workspace through an interactive experience enabled by Gemini models that helps administrators analyze granular configurations against security best practices, uncovering exposures that could leave critical business processes exposed. It’s standalone, free, and available immediately. XM Cyber
- [Acronis] GenAI Protection for MSP clients. Acronis launched a monitoring and security solution for its MSP clients so they can control how generative AI is used across their clients’ environments. Acronis GenAI Protection is designed to be provisioned, managed, and monetized by MSPs. Through a centralized console integrated into the Acronis platform, service providers can monitor AI usage across customer environments, including policy enforcement, reporting, and risk mitigation, while protecting generative AI interactions alongside data, applications, and endpoints. Key capabilities: detection of shadow AI, prompt inspection, and prevention for prompt injection and AI abuse. Available immediately. Acronis
- [Check Point] Securing AI agents in Google Cloud. Check Point will integrate its defensive AI tools with Google’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. Check Point …. governs which agents, tools, and connections are allowed [in Enterprise Agent Platform], and we inspect every action at runtime to determine whether it should proceed because in agentic systems, access alone doesn’t guarantee the right outcome. Key components: visibility, policy definition and enforcement, and runtime guardrails. Available late June 2026. Check Point
- [Rubrik] Integration with Google Cloud. Rubrik launched Rubrik Agent Cloud (RAC) for Google’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, adding semantic governance and operational resilience to AI agents operating on Google Cloud. For customers running Google Cloud-built autonomous agents, the new integration provides Rubrik capabilities to monitor, govern, and instantly remediate AI actions. RAC is powered by Rubrik’s Semantic AI Governance Engine (SAGE), data security’s leading AI governance engine designed to maintain total control over agent behavior – with the industry’s only ‘rewind’ capability to undo mistakes. Rubrik
- [Netskope] Securing AI agents in Google Cloud. Netskope and Google Cloud are working together to secure generative AI and AI agents running on Google Cloud – via the Netskope One AI Guardrails solution. Netskope One capabilities secure autonomous agents, helping to ensure that when an agent calls a tool, interacts with an MCP server, or executes an autonomous task, every step is verified against enterprise policy in real time. The solution detects and breaks unintended recursive loops or malicious “ghost” commands that can lead to resource exhaustion or unauthorized system modifications on Google Cloud. Available immediately. Netskope
