  • [Nile] Crisis of security for healthcare. New research from Nile on networking, security, and AI in the healthcare sector finds an industry at high risk. The report describes a modern healthcare network that has outgrown its own architecture: a sprawling, distributed ecosystem of hospitals, outpatient clinics, imaging centers, and remote sites, stitched together with tens of thousands of connected medical and IoT devices – that often cannot be patched or run an agent – yet sit on the same network as the electronic health record (EHR).   • [Portnox] Network “kill switch” for AI agents. Portnox announced a new kill switch for rogue / risky / questionable AI agent activity, as signalled through Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, or SentinelOne. When any of these platforms detects elevated risk, suspicious activity, or a change in device posture, Portnox can immediately block, quarantine, or revoke access—including access for AI agents—in accordance with the organization’s established policies. The expanded capabilities help close the gap between identifying a potential threat and preventing a risky AI identity from continuing to access enterprise resources. Portnox
  • [IGEL] Emergency Mode – for cyberattacks and Windows outages. IGEL added an emergency mode to its business continuity and disaster recovery service, which enables administrators to get supported endpoints to boot into the secure IGEL operating system instead of Windows. Users don’t have to initiate the action themselves. Emergency Mode using the IGEL OS continues until the recovery actions on the Windows side are completed. Administrators can reboot a single device, selected groups, or entire endpoint fleets. Devices remain locked into IGEL OS until an administrator changes them back to Windows. During the event, the Windows partition is isolated and preserved for forensic and compliance review while users resume work on the same device, reconnecting to authorized applications and resources as incident-response teams continue their investigation.   • [Commvault] Cloud Rewind advancements. Commvault expanded its Cloud Rewind service to help organizations more quickly recover a full operational environment after a cyberattack. Cloud Rewind [works by] continuously discovering cloud resources, mapping application dependencies, and orchestrating the recovery and rebuild of cloud applications, including the infrastructure, configurations, and dependencies they need to operate, from a single platform. This expansion broadens Azure protection by 3X – now covering 62% of enterprise-relevant Azure resource types available in the market. Organizations can also validate recovery readiness through application recovery simulations, including within isolated, air-gapped environments, before an incident occurs. Available immediately.
