News for today:
- [Abnormal AI] SoftBank for GTM across Japan. SoftBank’s enterprise sales network will be offering email security capabilities from Abnormal AI to enterprise customers across Japan. Through SoftBank’s offering of Abnormal’s email security solution, Abnormal will be able to reach a broader base of enterprise customers across the country through SoftBank’s enterprise sales network. Phishing and other social engineering attacks, including business email compromise (BEC), are growing more sophisticated across Japan. According to Japan’s National Police Agency, citing Council of Anti-Phishing Japan data, phishing reports in 2025 totaled 2,454,297, underscoring the scale of the challenge enterprises face. - [Open Systems] AI playbook. Open Systems said it’s putting AI at the center of how its network operations platform is built and operated, leveraging 35 years of experience and millions of operational decisions, and giving customers options for how to use what they offer. Open Systems does not rely on one generic “AI”, but on a team of specialized agents, each with one operational job. Customers do not have to manage that complexity themselves: they interact with one operator, Lucy. Behind Lucy sits the Open Systems AI Matrix: six specialized agents, each focused on a single operational domain. Hermes understands live traffic and paths. Argus handles web and email gateway operations. Lex reads policy and rules. Atlas handles rollout and provisioning. Prometheus brings foresight, using operational precedents to anticipate failures before they happen. Calli turns operational data into reporting and evidence. Open Systems
- [Tenable] Mythos 5 inside. Tenable is adding Claude Mythos 5 into the core of its exposure management platform, to better equip defenders to stop AI-powered attacks. This step marks an expansion of Tenable’s existing work with Anthropic through Project Glasswing, moving from securing Tenable code and infrastructure to the availability of Claude Mythos 5 within Tenable One. The first innovation planned in this expanded work will be Tenable One Adversary View, a new capability that uses Claude Mythos 5 to help security teams discover hidden attack paths and how to best remediate them. - [Rubrik] CrowdStrike partnership.vNext. Rubrik and CrowdStrike embraced collaborative agentic workflows for security teams and identity resilience; signals from Falcon NextGen Identity Security link with Rubrik’s Identity Resilience for recovery. The integration establishes a closed-loop response. CrowdStrike detects and contains malicious activity, while Rubrik correlates detection data with identity activity logs. For example, context within Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and IGA solutions can be scanned for threats across backup data. Teams can then surgically undo malicious Active Directory changes or trigger automated forest recovery plans while removing malicious files. From detection to recovery, the incident is then closed with minimal manual intervention. Rubrik
- [Cyera] Claiming the Oasis (Security). Cyera’s acquisition of Oasis Security is done / finalized / completed, and hence combines data security (Cyera’s strength) with identity security (h/t Oasis). Bringing data and identity together establishes the foundation for dynamic trust: a unified understanding of the relationship between every non-human identity and the data it can reach. Cyera brings deep intelligence into enterprise data—understanding where it resides, what it contains, how sensitive it is, how it is exposed, and the business context that makes it consequential. Oasis brings the intelligence to understand the identities, credentials, workloads, and agents accessing it. Together, that context can inform the access decision itself—whether this identity should access this data, for this action, at this moment. Cyera
