News for today:
- [Netacea] Netacea plus Queue-it. Netacea and Queue-it worked together on a new product, called Bots & Abuse Premium. Netacea’s patented AI driven detection engine analyses server-side activity of all visitors in the queue to continually re-assess their reputation, based on behavioral patterns, device fingerprinting, network signals, and request characteristics. This approach allows Netacea to be fully embedded into the Queue-it virtual waiting room, without impacting the experience of legitimate human visitors. Because the model is built into Queue-it’s existing platform, your engineering team doesn’t need to install anything, and there’s no client-side footprint for a sophisticated bot to spot and route around. - [Arctic Wolf] Aurora MDR Connect. Arctic Wolf launched Aurora MDR Connect for MSPs, for scaling Arctic Wolf’s security operations services to more customers; intent is that some MSPs will upgrade over time to the Aurora MDR, with more capabilities. Purpose-built for the MSP operating model, Aurora MDR Connect provides streamlined access to the Aurora Superintelligence Platform and Aurora Agentic SOC, which together process more than 10 trillion security events each week, conduct more than 200,000 investigations weekly, and leverage an ecosystem of more than 250 integrations to deliver enterprise-grade security operations to organizations of all sizes. By ingesting telemetry from endpoint, network, cloud, identity, SaaS applications, and other sources, Aurora MDR Connect gives MSPs a more complete view of customer risk and enables detection and response across a broader attack surface. This provides MSPs the ability to give their customers access to solutions that move beyond endpoint-only security approaches and deliver stronger protection against modern threats while simplifying deployment and ongoing operations. - [Sophos] MSPs as Acting CISOs. New research from Sophos asserts that MSPs are playing a more strategic role in managing cyber risk for customers. On average, MSPs estimate that nearly half (46%) of their customers currently rely on them to act as their Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). New research suggests this role will continue to expand, with 84% of MSPs expecting demand for CISO services to increase over the next 12 months as organizations seek trusted advisors to help navigate cybersecurity risk, compliance obligations and increasingly complex security environments. - [HP Wolf Security] September threat report. HP Wolf Security’s September 2026 threat report (16 pages) is out. One key finding: HP Sure Click detected phishing campaigns that hid a QR code inside a PDF invoice, coaxing victims to scan it with their phone, a technique known as quishing (T1598.003). The clever part was the switch of device. By moving the victim onto a smartphone, this sidesteps the protections guarding a work PC, so a scam link already blocked on a computer can open freely on a phone. At the end of the trail was a convincing fake login page built to capture Microsoft passwords. HP Wolf Security
