News for today:
- [Absolute Security] Embracing Linux. Absolute Security announced that its endpoint security tools are now available on Linux. Support for Linux is available to Absolute Secure Endpoint customers on supported Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) workstation distributions. With this release, Absolute Secure Endpoint on Linux adds two new capabilities: device inventory through hardware data collection, and device freeze, available on demand or on a schedule for both online and offline machines. Patching, remediation, and automation are also available on Linux through select Secure Endpoint tiers. Absolute Security
- [CrowdStrike] Kill switch for AI agents. CrowdStrike added a kill switch for AI agents to Falcon Guardian, for stopping unauthorized agent activity at runtime; is also acquiring Fiddler to increase agent observability. AI agents are automating work end-to-end. Securing them requires protection at every control point. Falcon Guardian secures AI agents where they execute, on the endpoint at runtime. New innovations add the agent and the network: agent-level hooks enforce what agents are told to do, and endpoint network inspection sees when they communicate with models and tools. Only CrowdStrike brings the agent, the network, and the endpoint together, so organizations can move fast with AI without losing control. CrowdStrike
- [Abnormal AI] Land and expand play. Abnormal AI unbundled its AI Governance tool from its earlier Platform offering, meaning that customers can make use of AI Governance standalone without buying into the entire platform; AI Governance specs the problem via discovery, inventory, and reporting. Because every Abnormal product runs on the same platform and behavioral model, customers that start with AI Governance can add Inbound Email Security, Identity Threat Protection, Infiltration Prevention, or other Abnormal AI security products seamlessly from the AI App Store in their portal. - [Tanium] Tanium goes OpenAI. Tanium joined the OpenAI Trusted Access for Cyber program, so it can leverage frontier models for threat research and detection, vulnerability and remediation, and platform security. Tanium’s participation in the OpenAI TAC reflects its commitment to putting frontier AI to work responsibly, with human judgment and oversight built in. The research and security work it enables reaches customers through the platform that protects their most critical endpoints. Tanium operates within the program’s requirements and authorized-use boundaries, including identity verification, access governance and permitted-use safeguards. Tanium
- [BIO-key] Integration with Cipher; Portugal step one. BIO-key announced the integration of its identity security technologies with Cipher’s cybersecurity operations; unclear if this is just a reseller agreement or something more technical. The planned integration starts in Portugal. Cipher, a Prosegur company, is a specialized cybersecurity provider with more than 20 years of experience, over 200 cybersecurity professionals, and operations across Spain, Portugal, the United States and Brazil. Through its network of six Cybersecurity Operations Centers and its managed cybersecurity services, Cipher supports organizations in strengthening their security posture, managing cyber risks, and protecting critical digital environments. By incorporating BIO-key’s identity security technologies into its cybersecurity portfolio, Cipher will be able to extend its offering beyond traditional cybersecurity protection to address one of the most critical components of modern enterprise security: the identity of the individual accessing systems, applications, and sensitive information.
